  2. Welcome - Who Are We?The Puyallup Extrication Team (aka PXT) Group of Career Firefighters, Medics and Officers from Central Pierce, West Pierce, South King, & Tacoma Fire Departments. We base our instruction off of our “Learn, Train, Teach” hands on model. We all share a common goal of educating responders in extrication from dispatch to the successful termination of the incident. We are a mobile extrication company able to instruct up to 50 Firefighters. Possess state of the art equipment in hydraulics, pneumatics and hand tools.

  3. Who Are We? PXT started in 2000 with a mixed group of firefighters that wanted to better themselves. Competing in TERC events exposed us to the WRO standards of extrication and had set the foundation for what we are today. We pride ourselves and are known for being competent and having a passion for extrication. Being consistent with common terminology using standardized approaches regardless of the situation. We want every student be as successful as possible with the tools we can provide.

  4. MISSION STATEMENT To build on our skills and knowledge in vehicle & heavy rescue extrication so that we may share information with all rescuers to meet our common goal— “Saving Lives” …

PXT Philosophy • Not just “our way” but “a way with options” through trial and error. • An effective approach used internationally. • Objective based criteria to SAFE scene control. • What is our Goal within the fire service pertaining to auto extrication? • To have complete Situational Awareness. • Provide the safest working environment. • Provide the best patient care we can. • Be as efficient as we can by developing and executing plans managed by the Extrication leader.
