Halal Research Council VISION Halal Research Council certifies the products in the light of recognized Shariah Supervisory Board along with high qualified food technologist, industrial manufacturing specialist, chemical engineers and audit professionals etc in respect of eligibility for consumption, following a research based methodology in scrutinizing on the sources of ingredients and by examining the entire supply chain of the manufacturers in general and the alternative choices and options available to them.

Halal Research Council Explanation of Halal Flow Chart • Halal Application Form is submitted by Company (as Manufacturer, supplier, distributer or Producer) with following credentials. • Company Name • Processing and Plant Info • Applicant should submit a list of all products produced by the company • In respect of the Product, requested for Halal Certification • Nature of Product (Food/Non Food) • Brand Name • Ingredients with sources • Process Flow Chart • Market and its viability plan • When an application is received by HRC, the concerned office will screen the documents submitted by applicant. If the documents are found complete in all respects, the application is ready for further submission at next stage for scrutiny and audit otherwise application will be rejected. • PTO
Halal Research Council Explanation of Halal Flow Chart • HRC processing fee charged. • First stage in processing is the documents review by Audit Team & Inspection Committee consists of Islamic academician, food scientist, industrial manufacturing specialist ( like Department of Livestock in case of slaughter house) • After the first audit and Inspection clearance, documents will be evaluated by Shariah Supervisory Board. • After approval from Shariah Supervisory Board, the case is submitted to the Research wing who will extract samples from the product, process and raw materials randomly. The samples so collected are sent to the Inspection Team where these are examined in the laboratory. A detailed report is prepared by the Research wing considering all the details submitted so far and the laboratory results. They will then submit their report and subsequently report will be forwarded to the Audit and Inspection Committee PTO
Halal Research Council Explanation of Halal Flow Chart • If the Committee clears the report, the report will be submitted to Shariah Supervisiory Board for Halal Fatwa. • This Board will decide the Halal status, if the product qualifies for it. • Halal certificate will be issued for a period of 1 year during which the entire process will remain subject to review and observation as and when felt appropriate by the Audit and Inspection Committee during that period.
