Teachers College and NCATE • Henderson must provide evidence of Candidate Knowledge, Skills, and Professional Dispositions • iWebfolio allows for ease in providing data from raters (University supervisors, public school supervisors, and self/peer reviewers) by using imbedded rubrics • Samples of work can be shared with others to demonstrate abilities and to showcase knowledge, skills, and dispositions • Provides evidence of knowledge of use of technology
iWebfolio and Teachers College • iWebfolio seemed like a natural fit for Teachers College • Ability to develop templates, add reflections, and self-rate tools • A group of faculty and staff developed a portfolio template in Spring 2006 • An action plan was developed to insure buy-in from everyone • Feedback was gathered throughout the process from faculty and administration from Teachers College
Teachers College Template • Developed template from the Portfolio Handbook based upon Daniel’s Frameworks and the four domains of Pathwise • Two rubrics are used to gather evidence • Portfolio • Video Teach
iWebfolio Pilot • iWebfolio Pilot (Fall 2006 and Spring 2007) • During the pilot process we offered a training session before each semester • Developed a WebCT course for each student using iWebfolio to join in order for helpful tips and easy feedback on problems • Made some changes to template and way students are trained using the product because of the feedback from the interns
iWebfolio Progress • Student interns were required to develop portfolios using iWebfolio during the Fall 2007 • Fall 2007 the Exit Interview included a scoring rubric for the electronic portfolio • Data collected from the rubric was imported into TracDat • Now being introduced in Instructional Technology during sophomore year
iWebfolio Training • Hands-On Training workshops are held for incoming teacher interns during their pre-semester meeting • Basics for uploading files, items, and websites as well as editing content areas • How to work with the template • Provide a copy of the survival guide • Four “Workdays” are scheduled during the semester (two are in the evenings and two are on a Saturday) • The Online Learning Services Coordinator provides support for iWebfolio through the Multi-Media Learning Center
Assessment Data from iWebfolio: How do we use it in TracDat?
Extend Use of iWebfolio • Summer 2008- Make minor changes to Teachers College Portfolio to better gather data for specific programs • Fall 2008- Begin development of School of Business Template • Fall 2008- Complete the development of portfolio for Henderson State University Assessment
