As a part of NAP; • the baseline budget (BB) • the national diagnostic analysis (NDA) • Economic instruments (EI) • and • sectoral plan (SP) was prepared • Finally; • NATIONAL ACTION PLAN (NAP) 2004.
The announcement of the NAP to the publics and stakeholders, Information dissemination, To increase environmental awareness of the public in the Mediterranean and Aegean Regions, To increase awareness of the stakeholders To enhance participation of local and regional societies, economical and social groups. The main objectives of the meetings are considered as follows;
Preparation invitation letters (one month before the meetings) • Posting invitation letters; • For stakeholder meeting, 60 different organisations were invited. Each institution could come for 2 persons (Totally 120 persons) • For public participations, 100 different organisations were invited (İzmir: 10 different cities; Antalya:7 different cities; NGOs; press etc) Organisation preparation steps
Organisation preparation steps • Brochures, CDs and web sites (www.kkkuep.com) • were prepared for public participation meetings, • These materials were also used for stakeholder • Meeting, • Preparation of files for each participants and it consists of pen, notebook, brochures, CDs, colored paper for voting, critics/comments paper

Comments and critics of the public participants • Population fluctuation and pollution risk should be • emphasis in the touristic areas • What kind of institutional organisation should be necessary • for the management of the catchment areas • What kind of studies do MEFA plan for the increasing of the • capacity building • NAP and its components should be spreading as wide as • possible • Central treatment plant is suggested • Applications of the ecocharge from tourism is suggested • Reaching the same targets for all countries are discussed • Hot spots and sensitives areas should be revised

One of the most important lesson learned, was that the NAP report should have been distributed earlier to the participants of the meeting. Therefore the participants could be familiar with the subjects presented during the meetings and could be able to ask more comprehensive and focused questions. Such meetings should be organized more often and in more cities in order to achieve wide dissemination and to keep these issues actual Lessons Learned
