  2. Johann Sebastian Bach, German composer of many instruments under different works such as choir and orchestra was born March 21, 1685.

  3. Although not known to introduce new forms, Bach improved the Germans style of music • Works include Brandenburg Concertos, The Golden Variations, the Mass in B Minor, etc.

  4. Johann Sebastian Bach was born in Eisenach, Saxe-Eisenach • He was the youngest child of Johann Ambrosius Bach and Maria Elisabeth Lämmerhirt • After the death of his parents he moved in with his older brother Johann Christoph Bach • Johann interned on his brothers experience on music and performance

When Bach was 14, him and his old school friend George Erdmann, was awarded a choral scholarship to study at the prestigious St. Michael's School in Lüneburg in the Principality of Lüneburg • As of January 1703, soon after graduating from St. Michael's Bach gained an appointment as a court musician in the chapel of Duke Johann Ernst in Weimar

  6. Bach was soon hired by Leopold, Prince of Anhalt-Köthen as the director of music • During this period Bach's great works were originated such as Orchestral Suites, the Six Suites for Unaccompanied Cello and the Sonatas and partitas for solo violin

  7. On 7 July 1720, Bach's wife Maria Barbara, the mother of his first seven children, sadly died • Bach soon remarried Anna Magdalena Wilcke, whom he had 13 children with Bach's seal contained the letters J S B superimposed over their mirror image topped with a crown.

  8. In 1723, Bach was appointed Cantor of the Thomasschule at St. Thomas Church in Leipzig, as well as Director of Music in the principal churches in the town • Died on July 28, 1750, in Leipzig, Saxony Germany) Bach's final resting place, St. Thomas Church in Leipzig
