  2. The aim of this study was to compare the influence of preoperative and intraoperative root canal filling and apicotomy and the postoperative clinical outcome. AIM 2

  3. The study included 20 patients, 10 with preoperative root canal filling and apicotomy and the same number with intraoperative root canal filling STUDY DESIGNE 3

  6. Nosignificantdifferencewasfoundbetweenthe testgroupandthecontrolgroupinthe incidenceofpostoperativesequelae, i.e. fever, pain, swellingandalveolarosteitis. A statisticallysignificantassociationbetween smoking, habitualdrinkingandincreased postoperativepainandfeverwasfound. Swellingwasfoundtobegender-related, inthat femalepatientsexperiencedmoreswellingthan malepatients. RESULTS 6

  7. There was no influence of the type of the root canal filling at the postoperative clinical outcome and thus at the quality of the patient’s social life at that period. CONCLUSION 7
