Sentence Diagramming • Sentence diagramming is the process of dissecting a sentence to view how each word works in a sentence. • The process contains a series of lines and angles in order to make a visual connection.
The Basics • In order for a sentence to be, it must contain a subject and a verb. • This formation looks like this with a diagrammed sentence: Subject Verb
The Basics • If you notice, the first part of the line contains the subject (who or what the sentence is about), and the second part is separated by a vertical line. This second part contains the verb. • Jane ran
