Phytogeographical regions of the world . Several attempts were made to classify the phytogeographical regions of the world Schouw (1928) and Good(1947, 1964) are important. Schouw divided the entire world into 25 kingdoms- named after their most important & common plants.

  1. Phytogeographical regions of the world • Several attempts were made to classify the phytogeographical regions of the world • Schouw (1928) and Good(1947, 1964) are important. • Schouw divided the entire world into 25 kingdoms- named after their most important & common plants. • Kingdoms were subdivided into provinces-named after the characteristic plants of respective provinces.   2. Good (1964) divided the world into 6 kingdoms. • Of these kingdoms, only one has been divided into sub-kingdoms • These kingdoms & sub-kingdoms were further divided into regions & ultimately into provinces. Phytogeographical Regions of the World
