Aerophones • Aerophones produce sound by blowing air across a reed, tone hole, or into a mouthpiece that is connected to a tube. • Aerophones also manipulate pitch by pressing down valves, keys, or moving a slide when blowing air through the tube. • Aerophones can be split into two families based on: • What they are made of • How they manipulate pitch • How they initiate sound
