UT Arlington Intellectual Stimulation Guaranteed.
Promoting EducationAn Advertising Plan • Goals: • To relay a BIG message in little space with few words. • To make a lasting impression on the target audience. • To make people want to attend UT Arlington.
The message • If you go to UT Arlington, you’ll learn all you wish to learn, and all you need to learn.
Ad Placement • Billboards are the best way to implement this plan. • Magazines and newspapers • Social Media • TV and Radio
The Ad itself • Billboards: Multiple billboards are lined up alongside the road. • First billboard poses an intellectual question (What’s the square root of 456987264?) • Second billboard poses another question in a more contemporary field of interest such as entertainment or fashion (Who is the richest entreprenuer in America?) • Third and final question is always the same question- What are dreams made of? • The fourth and final billboard simply says: The University of Texas at Arlington Go and Know (or “UT Arlington… Go and Know”)
The Ad itself • Magazines: a small section of a page has a question on it (who was president in 1836?) • next page has another question on it (What is the average salary of a film producer?) • final page has a larger section that reads- What are dreams made of? • Every page has the UT Arlington logo on it. • The backside of the page that asks about dreams, is a full page ad that reads: UT Arlington Go and Know • Newspapers: a medium sized ad simply reads a question of the day. The question can be answered on the UT Arlington homepage. The ad will have the question of the day, then a link to the UT Arlington homepage that reads UT Arlington, Go and Know. Small ad, short and easy, cheap.
The Ad itself • Social Media: The FB or Twitter etc… site will have a question of the day, as well as a forum of the day. That’s it. Simple. The end of every question or forum topic will read: UT Arlington Go and Know • There can also be promotional prizes given away to the first person to answer the daily question.
The Ad itself • TV and Radio: These ads will be virtually identical with the exception of sight vs sound alone. • A confused person, student or parent, (or anyone really), starts asking a lot of questions. • Unlike the billboards with only three questions, there would be an overwhelming number of outrageous questions on a number of topics. • The last question should be What are dreams made of? Or How do I become successful? Something to the nature of achieving your goals. • After the questions are asked someone simply comes over to the confused individual and pats them on the shoulder and says “Whoa, I think I can help you. Check out this college.” • The confused person says… “UT Arlington?” • The helping individual says… “Go and Know” • Then there’s a brief classic advertisement. (radio- the announcer says a few words about visiting the webpage or calling for more information. TV- the logo appears large on the screen and the announcer says something about how to learn more about UTA.)
