Also, theIndian Standardsprescribethecodeofpractice for operations, installation and maintenance of goods and service lifts and passenger. The safety of the lifts is covered under above regulations. While IS or Indian Standards will be appropriate for installations across India, Lifts Act is pretty specific to states where the acts have been enacted.
