WE’RE HERE TO STAY Did they think we’d disappear When they’d had enough of us, Simply vanish in thin air, go up in a puff of dust? No, we will never go away; we’re here to stay! You will find us all around, we are scattered far and wide: In the streets of every town, in the sea and countryside. No, we will never go away; we’re here to stay! Some of us are in disguise, Hiding in the water and the food supplies. Some are plain as plain can be, Filling up the landfills, floating in the sea. Rusty metals and bicycles! Burnt-out kettles and chemicals! Broken bottles and plastic bags, Piled sky high on a bed of old rags!
They may throw us in the bin tied up in a plastic sack. They may flush down the drain, But we’ll still keep coming back. No, we will never go away; we’re here to stay, We’re here to stay, we’re here to stay, we’re here to stay!
CARRY ON AND ON All made up in glossy plastic And designed to look fantastic Stacked up at the supermarket checkout. Customers came every day And queued up at the till to pay, And filled us up with packages to take out. We were free, they were giving us away. Nobody could see there’d be a heavy price to pay; For long after the last customer has gone Old plastic bags like us will carry on and on.

DIRTY ROTTEN DECOMPOSERS We’re the dirty rotten decomposers; The natural waste disposers. We get down to it, mulch it up and chew it. It’s a dirty rotten job, but someone’s got to do it. And what grows up must come down, And the cycle of life goes round and round, The cycle of life goes round and round. What grows up must come down, And the cycle of life goes round and round, The cycle of life goes round and round.
And it’s really quite a messy process, When vegetation decomposes, We purify it, test it out and try it. It’s a necessary part of our daily diet. And what grows up must come down, And the cycle of life goes round and round, The cycle of life goes round and round. What grows up must come down, And the cycle of life goes round and round, The cycle of life goes round and round. And round and round and round and round, And round and round. Yeah!

Don’t fill the sky…. with aeroplanes, Why don’t we try going there by train? …..Leave the car, take a bus, take a bike, Take a hike: left, right, use our two feet. Turn off a tap and a light, Click, click, that’s right. Come on everybody, let’s work together, Do a little bit to make it a better world today, Because we all know….. that a lot of little bits’ll make A big world of difference tomorrow

IN THE MOMENT They say little fish have no memory, We just live in the moment, then the moment is gone But I’ll always remember the warm rays of the sun, And the ripple of raindrops as we darted along. They say little fish have no feelings, How can cold-blooded creatures Know the meaning of love? But I’ll always remember feeling happy today, ‘Til a big, angry shadow took my sunshine away; Don’t believe what they say
