  3. Planets • First to hypothesize that Saturn’s moon Titan and Jupiter’s moon Europa possessed oceans. • Furthered insights involving Jupiter’s atmosphere, Mars’ seasonal changes, and that Venus’ atmosphere was extremely hot and dense.

  4. Extraterrestrial Life • Sagan always insisted on searching for life in the universe. • Urged scientists to use large radio telescopes to look for signals from extraterrestrial lifeforms. • Wanted probes sent to other planets.

  5. UFOs • Sagan had interests in UFOs and urged the science community to look into them, mainly because they were so popular.

  6. Books • Sagan wrote many outstanding books. • Cosmos - Expanded on his TV program. • The Dragons of Eden: Speculation on the Evolution of Human Intelligence - Won a Pulitzer Prize. • Contact – Best-selling science fiction novel that was turned into a movie.
