  4. Today you are going to read an excerpt from the book Behind the Beautiful Forevers. As you read, mark areas that confuse you. Just mark your confusion—don’t do anything more!

  5. Now go back to your areas of confusion. Turn your confusion into questions. Write at least five questions or comments about your confusion. Does the word ____ mean ____?When it says ____, does it mean _____?What does the author mean when she uses this simile? Why did Abdul ________?

  6. Now choose one question which you think is the most interesting or important. You will share this question with your partner and attempt to answer it (or at least come closer to an answer) with your partner. Turn and Talk
