Suggestions for Fall 2008 Sessions • We can have “usual” sessions, e.g. Industrial Applications. • Favorites? • Sessions not popular or not working? • If you’d like to chair something for CoMSEF, talk to Clare McCabe or send an e-mail to c.mccabe@vanderbilt.edu. Please list areas of interest.
Notes for Officers’ Meeting • Current membership is 650 • Only 23 people voted in the election • Golab: Recall that AIChE paid for our CoMSEF grad awards last year in anticipation of our dues collection this year. So, we may still be under what our membership numbers expect in our coffer. • Kofke: AIChE lifers such as Joe and myself would like the convenience (at least speaking for myself) of not having to send CoMSEF dues every year, given that we're not submitting dues to AIChE. Lifetime CoMSEF membership could be something we want to discuss at our meeting. The AIChE lifetime dues are about 10 years of annual dues. I guess AIChE would have to manage this, which is something they might not want to take on. • Best paper award?
