(Gen 11:4) And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.

Pergamos NOTES • Jeroboam • • First king of 10 northern tribes after kingdom divided following Solomon’s death. • • Leads Israel into rebellion. Sets up images for Israel to worship. (See Rev13)

Ahab • • I Kings 16:30- Israel’s most evil king. • • He is married to Jezebel. • • Jezebel is defined in Rev. 2:20 as a religious system. • • In Judges 17 & 18- this system uses robed priest called fathers who use idols as aids in worship in their “house of God”. • • In Rev. 17:3, that woman (Jezebel) is sitting on the Beast (Antichrist). • • She is the one-world religion the Antichrist will use to pull the world together religiously during the Tribulation.
Pergamos NOTES • 14. Sennacherib • • Wicked king of Assyria who invades Israel from the north. • • His name is found 13 times in the Bible. • • “The Assyrian” is a term used to refer to the antichrist in the Old Testament. • • “The Assyrian” is also found 13 times in the Bible.

Nebuchadnezzar • • King of Babylon who captured Jerusalem and took Judah into captivity • • Jer. 51:34- Called a “Dragon” (see Rev. 13:4) • • (Jer 51:34) Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon hath devoured me, he hath crushed me, he hath made me an empty vessel, he hath swallowed me up like a dragon, he hath filled his belly with my delicates, he hath cast me out. • • Erects an image for people to worship. Haman • • Wicked king who persecutes the Jews in the Book of Esther. • • Because of his hatred for one individual Mordecai (Christ), he seeks to wipe put the whole Jewish nation. • • (Est 7:6) And Esther said, The adversary and enemy is this wicked Haman. Then Haman was afraid before the king and the queen.

Herod • • The kings of the Roman empire at the time of the birth of Christ • • Sought to kill Christ by killing all the children under the age of 2 • • (Rev 12:4-5) And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.
