The School of Education at Central University of Jammu is establishing a Centre of Excellence to improve the quality of education by building support systems for teachers. The focus is on developing teacher profiles, collaborating with national agencies, conducting surveys and research, and implementing innovative teaching methods.

Making and attempt to … Develop teachers’ profiles at school and higher education levels in order to provide them support for effective performance and excellence: • Holding hands of agencies such as SSA & RMSA etc. • Collaborating with State and National Agencies (NCERT, NIEPA, Google, Microsoft etc.) • Surveys and research in curriculum (pre-service & in-service levels) • Skills labs and mock practice of the prospective teachers & teacher educators, • Digitizing the classrooms & pedagogical innovations through technology
Establishment of Centre for Curriculum Research, Policy and Educational Development is proposed to be added as the fourth Centre under School of Education (PMMMNMTT), Central University of Jammu. • In Jammu division the district-wise proposed plan of activities (developed after analysis of needs of Jammu Division) to be conducted during the year 2018-19 are as follows: • Jammu and Udhampur: • Workshops on enhancing learners’ skills to cope with the New Threats on Life (such as child abuse, substance abuse, adolescent education, Yoga and life skills) for the teachers, ZEO’s and DIET officials (separately for each group). • Five days’ Orientation workshop on new methods of teaching for the teachers at pre-primary and primary levels. • Two days’ workshop on active pedagogies for the school teachers. • Orientation courses on new avenues in vocational education for the DIET faculty. • Focus Workshop on building skills in leadership, institutional monitoring and evaluation for CEOs, ZEOs, DIET officials and School Principals. • Dodaand Kishtwar: • 10 days General Orientation Programme for primary schools teachers. • 07 days Subject Specific Refresher Programme for Primary/Upper Primary schools teachers. • 07 days Subject Specific Refresher Programme for Primary/Upper Primary schools teachers. • 07 days leadership and School Management training. • Rajouriand Poonch : • Workshop on Enhancing Pedagogical skills in Mathematics. • Workshop on Enhancing Pedagogical skills in English /Urdu. • Workshop on Value Orientation among Students. • Samba and Kathua District: • Training of 3000 Primary and Secondary teachers for winter and summer zones of the districts. • General Orientation Workshops on Professional Skills for the teachers. • Seminars and workshops on Social awareness issues. • Workshops on Module development and action research. • Training of teachers on General English, Computers, Maths, Sciences and Hindi etc. • Reasiand Ramban: • A three day workshop for the training of 40 teachers on Teaching of English Grammar. • A two day workshop for the training of 40 teachers on Disaster Management. • A three day workshop for the training of 40 teachers on Teaching of Mathematics.
The need analysis activities for Kashmir division and Ladakh Division are proposed to be conducted in the beginning of the year 2019-20 and accordingly the interventions for both the divisions shall be extensively designed and implemented during the year 2019-20. • The total grant sanctioned to conduct various activities under School of Education (PMMMNMTT), Central University of Jammu shall be distributed proportionately across the area of functioning with a clear inclination towards Jammu division. • Each proposed activity shall invariably be having a Centre-wise orientation i.e. the Centres established under the School of Education (PMMMNMTT), Central University of Jammu shall function as umbrella of different activities.
