A galaxy is a massive, gravitationally bound system consisting of stars,stella remnants,and interstellar medium of gas and dust,and,it is hypothesized,an important but poorly understood component called dark matter. We live near the outer edge of a spiral galaxy,a giant Catherine wheel, glowing with the light of 100 billion stars and stretching 100,000 light-years through space. WOW!

  4. Laika Laika was the first dog to be launched into space, Laika was a soviet space dog, but sadly died within hours of the launch. Other animals such as monkeys have also been previously sent into space.
