Besides facilitating ease in communication between all the stakeholders of the project and any changes are communicated in a timely manner, there are few fundamentals that should be made clear.   2. Febc International 1.Thorough understanding of the budget The most crucial question to ask your purchasing firm is to set the ’cost per key’ dimensions. What and how does a key is defined while setting the budget for FF&E purchasing? What spaces does it include? Does it include the corridors and the bathrooms? How is it calculated? By dividing the total amount spent with the total number of keys? Does it include soft costs? What all is included in the big E of FF&E? Is that specific item not covered under OS&E? As there are no universal definitions for FF&E and OS&E, differences do occur. In this, the purchasing agent approaches the different vendors and collects the production price. It helps in comparing the different vendors and choosing the best cost-effective vendor with the lowest cost of production without compromising the quality. It is important to invest in accounting systems but not as important as maintaining healthy vendor relationships. After all, in the end, they perform the work and get it done.
