Rules • Create a ppt of five pictures or more that tell a story • You cannot use a known story but the story could be a historical event or about something happened to you or just a story you make up. • A one/two-word title & your name is the only words that can be used in the title slide. • Rely only the pictures to tell the story • No words inside the pictures or graphics
Who wins • The more accurate people can guess your story the better. • The best 3 stories will get 3 extra credit each.
Save • Save the file as your name_your topic • For example save as ali_dinner party Save it as the older version of powerpoint 97-2003
Send your story to me • Send me an email at arezaei@csulb.edu • In a few sentences explain your story • Don’t attach your powerpoint
Google docs • Google Docs in Plain English
Open google docs Go to www.gmail.com User ID = etec444 Password = 444students
Publish your ppt 4- Click on documents/upload 5- Browse your ppt file & put the title of your story in the 3rd box (in front of What do you want to call it? ) and then click on upload file 6- Open your powerpoint in google docs
Publish your powerpoint • Go to Share/Sharing settings/change/public on the web • You will get the URL of your published presentation • Save this address somewhere because you will need it later. • Click on docs home to return to the main page
Go to • www.blogspot.com • Sign in Username (Email):etec444@gmail.com password:444students
Post to my Blog • Click on New Post • Type a title for your post (your name) • Type “ click here to see my powerpoint” • Highlight the above phrase • Insert the link to your powerpoint in the compose box. (the one you posted on google Docs) • Click on publish post • Click on View Blog to see our Blog
Wait until all posted • Watch at least 3 other postings and try to interpret their stories
Comment on others • Click on more/Blogs • Click on My account • Click/more and then choose Blogger
Rate the presentations • Click on comments to add your comments to at least 3 powerpoints • In you comments you try to guess the story or you can make your own interpretation. • Rate the presentations on scale 1-10 (10 being the best) in terms of the effectiveness of the pictures or visuals to convey the message
Open Google docs • Go to gmail.com and then Username (Email):etec444 password:444students Click on documents
Create an online survey • Click on New/Form • Create first question (name) • Add your name in the “untitled form box” • Click on add question • Save • Copy the link • Put the link in the URL box • Run the survey • Check your spreadsheet
How to create a blog account • Go to http://www.blogger.com
Choose a UNIQUE title for your blog Don’t use our course name. the name you choose should be short because the name will be a part of the URL of your blog.
