Torture the Marshmallow • Need: large syringe with lock & marshmallow • Avoid pulling the plunger out with the lock on. • Results
Shrink Wrap a Kid • Large trash sack, vacuum • Avoid placing head inside bag. • Results
Crush the Can • Aluminum can, tongs, hot plate, water from sink, container of ice water • Avoid: hot plate • Practice with tongs • Results
Paper & Air • Two sheets of paper & air from lungs. • Results
Vacuum Pump and Marshmallow Fluff & et. al. • Vacuum pump, jar of marshmallow fluff, smushed plastic bottle with lid, warm water in beaker. • Results
Time to Organize • Group the demos and activities we’ve done into groups that have similarities BASED ON HOW THEY WORK, not necessarily results. • Be ready to explain why you grouped them as you did.
Make a Mess • Cup with colored water, straw, scissors, listen for oral instructions • Results • Group quiz time—why does this work?

Gases are Squishy; Liquids Aren’t • Syringes filled with water connected together with tubing. • Compare the “oomph” needed when the syringes are different sizes. • Why does this occur?
Sink Crushes a Container • Aspirator—come up and feel it work, some empty sealable container (plastic or metal) • Results
Penny Challenge • Film container of pennies, clear container of water, flexcam • If I take out half of the pennies, what will the container of pennies do to the water level? • Results:
Butane Rain • Large syringes with lock, butane containers, muscle. • Results
