  1. My Favorite Art Braylee Gaertner

  2. INFO Title: “Viva la Vida” Artist: Frida Kahlo Date: 1954 Other: “Viva la Vida” is Spanish for “live the life.” Other: This was the last painting Kahlo painted.

  3. Why I like this painting I enjoy this painting simply because it makes me feel happy. When I look at this painting, I automatically feel the warmth of summer. The vibrant colors and the memory of the juicy fruit really take me back to the picnics and get-togethers that take place during the hot summer months. Associated with these events is family. Family is a big part of my life and this painting reminds me of them.

  4. INFO Title: “Portrait of a Woman” Artist: Joaquin Sorolla Y Bastida Date: 1922

  5. Why I chose this I like this painting because it’s so simple but yet so full of talent and outstanding artistic abilities. The subject is an easy-going young woman, but something about her facial expression implies that there’s more to her story. The answer is really a mystery and I like that everyone can interpret what she was thinking differently. In addition, I also think the colors are very inviting. The pastels and the pinks remind me of softness and warmth.

  6. INFO Title: “Boats on the Seine” Artist: Santiago Rusiñol Date: 1894 Style: Impressionism

  7. Why I like this painting. This painting is controversial. It can be interpreted in two different ways: dreary or elegant. From my point of view, I see it as both. On one hand, the scene is eerie because of the shadows and the bare trees and the darkness of the painting. However, I can also see it as just before dawn when the sun is about to shine and fishermen are just waking up to go use their much loved boats. Overall, I just love how everyone can see and interpret the painting differently.
