Guns • What is a gun? • Tool (like a hammer – can be used for good or evil) • Sport (fund raisers) • Hunting (provide food for the family, food for charity) • Protection (deterrent – Luke 22:35-38, founding fathers and 2nd amendment) • Be Prepared: Discuss with your family the use of deadly force and when its appropriate (if ever) now, so you can be prepared later. • Never, For Self defense, For Defense of others (Greater love – John 15:13), War (D-Day June 6th, Ecclesiastes 3:3, 8, Thou shall not murder, righteous cause)
Gun Safety • Guns need to be unloaded during transport, storage, person to person transfer. • Muzzle awareness at all times! • Finger off trigger at all times until target is identified and area is clear • Range Hot – Everyone behind the shooter • Range Cold – firearm placed down unloaded
Survival Saturday • See POD (Plan of the Day) • Arrive 0850 • Flag Raising 0900 • PT • Practice shooting • Top Shot • What to Bring: Bible, 22 cal rifle (unloaded)
Top Shot • .22 cal rifle • 25 meters (82 feet) • Scopes or open sights • Fire 6 rounds within 3 minutes any position • Shots added up – highest score wins • Line shots rounded up
Events • June 9th – 8:50am-Noon: Top Shot (work on getting Survival Skills points for Qual Card), Flag raising, PT (physical training), Practice Shooting, Top Shot. Meet at Fort Peterson. • June 16th – 10am – Burlington Fire House • June 20th – Change from the 19th – Master Snowberger has agreed to teach us some non lethal self defense techniques. How to get out of grabs, etc. • June 23rd – Survival Saturday – Rescue Ropes
