Description on Kakadu • Kakadu is in the Northern territory of Australia,171km southeast of Darwin. • Located within the Alligator rivers region of the northern territory of Australia. • It covers an area of 19,9804 km square, extending nearly 200 km from north to south and over 100km from east to west. • It’s the approximately the same size of Slovenia, about one-third the size of Tasmania, and nearly the size of Switzerland.
Brief Background • There are over 10,000 different species of insects,280 species of birds,117 species of reptiles,60 species of mammals. • Kakadu is one of the few precious places in Australia, where there has been on very limited if any extinctions of plant or animal species.
