Directions: • Work with a classmate. • Look at the main verb and adverb (time word or phrase) at the top of the screen. • Look at the 1st picture. Ask your classmate a yes/no question using the main verb and adverb. Remember to add the auxiliary verb “did” to start the question. • Click to see if you formed the question correctly. • Your classmate will then answer negatively about the 1st picture and affirmatively about the 2nd picture. • Click to see if your classmate formed the answers correctly.
Example: eat - this morning • Did you eat eggs this morning? • No, I didn’t eat eggs this morning. I ate toast. • What did you really eat this morning?
drink - this morning • Did you drink coffee this morning? • No, I didn’t drink coffee this morning. I drank juice. • What did you really drink this morning?
buy - last year • Did you buy a new car last year? • No, I didn’t buy a new car last year. I bought a motorcycle. • What did you really buy last year?
go - last week • Did you go shopping last week? • No, I didn’t go shopping last week. I went dancing. • Where did you really go last week?
pay your gas bill - last month • Did you pay your gas bill last month? • No, I didn’t pay my gas bill last month. I paid my cable bill. • What bills did you really pay last month?
break – two years ago • Did you break your leg two years ago? • No, I didn’t break my leg two years ago. I broke my arm. • Did you really break anything two years (or more) ago?
see – yesterday afternoon • Did you see your sister yesterday afternoon? • No, I didn’t see my sister yesterday afternoon. I saw my brother. • Did you really see any family yesterday afternoon?
bring – today • Did you bring a pencil with you today? • No, I didn’t bring a pencil with me today. I brought a pen. • What did you really bring with you today?
wake up – this morning • Did you wake up early this morning? • No, I didn’t wake up early this morning. I woke up late. • What time did you really wake up this morning?
Feel okay/sick – yesterday • Did you feel okay yesterday? • No, I didn’t feel okay yesterday. I felt sick. • How did you really feel yesterday?
