Who’s this guy presenting anyways? • Geoff Schwartz • Director of Public Relations & Advertising • Junior Communication Major, specializing in PR • Email: Geoff@rha.msu.edu • Office Phone: 355-8285
Ways to Advertise • The State News • Table Tents • Television • Radio • The City Pulse • Mailbox Advertising • Listserv
The State News • Primary campus-reaching advertising source • Reasonable prices, hits your demographic • Good relationship, good ads, short notice
Table Tents • Best on-campus student reaching method • Week and a half notice • Good designs, good space, good exposure • Great to publicize upcoming group meetings, upcoming events, etc.
Television • Large “coolness” factor • Expensive, but can be worth it • Only for large events, can be $200 and up to design the ad alone. • Don’t even ask me unless you’ve got your own budget
Radio • Expensive • “Coolness” Factor • Rarely used • Contact me if you’re interested
Lansing City Pulse • Weeklong runs • Cost-effective • Targeted demographic • Not for everyone
Mailbox Advertising • RHA is the only organization allowed to do mailbox advertising • Gets the word out to thousands • Problems with them actually reading it
Listserv • Our mailing list • Hundreds of names • Readability, and reaches interested parties
