Northwestern Region Update • Ferry Operations • New contract awarded March 2008 • ITS Maintenance Contract • Upgrade RWIS electronics using existing ITS Maintenance contract • Upgrade Charlottesville Rt. 29 Signal interconnect to wireless • Changeable Message Signs • Replace 2 Type A’s using existing ITS Maintenance contract

Northwestern Region Region Update (cont.) • Traffic Signal Maintenance • Upgraded Charlottesville Controllers • Replace Loops with Cameras • Camera Installations • Add traffic cameras in Charlottesville area using existing contract – Fall 2008 • Safety Service Patrols • Expanded service hours in Charlottesville • Added Winchester I-81 route

  4. Northwestern Region Update (cont.) • Began Traffic Signal Operations • Implementation Plan developed and underway • Winchester Area - Rte 7, 50 East, 50 West and 11 South done • Charlottesville Area - Rte 250 done by April 15 and Rte 29 by May 1 with assistance of CRO.

Northwestern Region Opportunities • Traffic Signal Maintenance Contract • - Outside Cabinet Preventive Maintenance • Mast arm, signal heads, cameras, loops • - Planned Corrective Work • Small corrective items (cameras, wiring, heads, pre-emption, conduit, junction boxes, cabinet/flasher foundations) • Unit pricing and Task Order based • Performance Based contract • Advertise Fall 2008 • Camera Installations • Advertise new contract – Summer 2008 • Add traffic cameras on primary routes – FY09 and FY10
