Life. Each citizen has the right to life, and to not live in fear of losing it. Certain rules must be followed to help our government do this. Liberty. People’s rights to think, act, or behave how they want, as long as it harms nobody else. Personal, political, economic freedom.

The Pursuit of Happiness • The right to pursue happiness in your career/future as long as you do not violate the rights of others, one’s future plan.
Common Good • People should work together to achieve happiness for everyone. • Community support.
Justice • All people should be treated fairly by the laws and court systems. • No group or person is favored over another with their benefits or consequences. • The law for one is the law for all.
Equality • Every person should get equal chances in life, regardless of race, religion, or how much money you have.
Truth • The government and citizens are honest with each other. • Truth=trust
Diversity • Differences in language, dress, and customs, etc. are accepted as what makes the U.S.A unique.
Popular Sovereignty • The power of our government comes from the people. • Voting=empowerment
Patriotism • A devotion to our country and believing in the core democratic values in our day to day actions. • If we all live through CDV’s, the U.S.A. is great=being patriotic!
