IQSS Team Progress Report: NASA Tournament LabReporting Period: March-May 2013 • FY 2013 Team Goals • Modify Contract with NASA to Extend to Year 4 (10/2013 - 9/2014) • Staff Changes: Design and Hire Data Scientist Position for Lab • Academic: Evaluate and analyze results for Signals v. Prize Experiment, write paper • Contests: Continually Develop and Run Software, Algorithm, and Studio Contests for NASA with TopCoder, Inc. • Business Development: Continue to find new partnerships with other federal government agencies with NASA’s Center of Excellence for Collaborative Innovation • Reporting Period Updates: • Evaluated Results of ISS Longeron Shadowing problem – NASA deemed results valid • Launched USAID Atrocity Prevention Challenge • ISS FIT app, ISS Robonaut, CMS Provider Enrollment & OPM Retirement Calculator challenges are on-going • National Geographic Image Machine Learning Challenge, QuakeFinder Algorithm Challenge, & Environment Protection Agency’s mobile app in development • Planetary Data System App and CMS Provider Enrollment software uploaded to Github for open source usage • Completed Yearly Evaluations for Research Manager and Data Scientist • Open issues, questions, or needs • NASA requested cost and technical proposal for subcontractor activities – due 6/24/13 • Metrics and/or attachments • N/A for this period
