Launch MSc/PG dip in Housing Studies (Asia Pacific) in Hong Kong, Macau and mainland China Develop PG new courses within the Architectural Engineering programme focussed on sustainability and renewable energy topics and in Civil Engineering focussed on Water related topics. Work with ALPs to project a premium image in the market place- attempt to go for a higher value market. Work with ALPs to develop strategic partnerships Add two new ALPs. The first of these will be BBUC in Jamaica. SBE priorities 2010/11 (1)

SBE key priorities 2010/11 (2) Concentrate on successful courses Support IDC activities to establish partnerships in Nigeria Make use of SDI and UKTI links to take advantage of professional level training opportunities. Examine use of work based learning to produce a dissertationless masters course working with key industrial partners in selected countries or regions.

Summary of future plans • Identify and develop relationships with potential new partners who have the appropriate facilities and have an interest in one or more of our courses • open dialogue with these partners on offering our courses both from our existing portfolio of MSc courses and our undergraduate programmes. • Continue to develop our courses with our current partners offering additional courses where appropriate • Develop further research collaborations with partners

Conversion Conversion of existing teaching materials via Teaching Fellows MSc Psychology for Business available for ALPs by June 2010 (semester 1) and July 2010 (semester 2) UGT materials (12 modules) available for ALPs by June 2010 (semester 1 and Year 1, semester 2) and December 2010 (Year 2 and 3, semester 2) MSc Applied Psychology available for September 2011 delivery (although probably December 2010)

Courses and Administration Courses to be offered MSc Psychology for Business (course approved) MSc Applied Psychology (course approved) BA Management and Psychology (50% psychology, 50% HWMP) (course approved) Administration Draft admin guidelines (and other related docs) prepared based on HWMP Imminent appointment of SLS ALP administrator - embedded within HWMP team for 12 months in first instance

  19. ALP Recruitment Launch of BA Management and Psychology and MSc Business Psychology with BBUC (Jamaica) and SHEL (Trinidad) plus probably one other Advice from HWMP is to delay other ALP recruitment until summer 2010 Approach all other existing HWMP ALPs then all other HWU ALPs

ALP Recruitment Longer-term MSc Applied Psychology (from September 2011 at the latest) MSc Food Science, Safety and Health (from September 2011) MSc Climate Change (from September 2011) Several possible hybrid courses including elements of SLS ALP courses (e.g., generic life sciences courses) or other HWU ALP courses (e.g., BSc/MSc Psychology and IT?, joint MSc courses with SML/EBS? (e.g., MSc Human Factors), MSc Climate Change and Petroleum Engineering? etc.

External Programmes Future Strategy • Focus on new strategic partners (identifiable 100+ matriculations) • Strengthening relationships and recruitment from existing successful partners • Approvals based on a minimum of 50 matriculations each year • The School will develop an Honours year for the HWMP for September 2011 • Introduction of optional Psychology modules from September 2011 • Introduction of further optional modules from September 2012 • Business Case for Development of Postgraduate courses: • e.g., MSc Logistics (2011/12); Project Management (2011/12) Additional: • Supporting School of Life Sciences, School of Mathematics and Computer Science and Textiles & Design: • Approved Learning Partner Course Delivery
