  10. Christ came to do God’s work John 5:17 My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I, too, am working.

  11. Believers are created for God’s work Ephesians 2:10 For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

  12. Believers are needed for God’s work Romans 12:4,5 Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, 5 so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.

  13. 6 We have different gifts, according to the grace given us.

  14. Every piece is needed . . .

  15. 1 Corinthians 12:14-20 Now the body is not made up of one part but of many. 15 If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body.

  16. 16 And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body.

  17. 17 If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be?

  18. 18 But in fact God has arranged the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. 19 If they were all one part, where would the body be? 20 As it is, there are many parts, but one body.

  19. The body of Christ has many members • Not all members have the same function • Every function is crucial to the operation of the body

  22. Colossians 3:23-25 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, 24 since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.

  39. 1 Timothy 1:13-14 - Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and unbelief. 14 The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.

  41. “I just don’t have any abilities to offer.” • People need some process of skill identification. • People need a process to help them match their abilities with the right ministry.
