  2. Why write an accurate bibliography? • You are using someone else’s work • You teacher will know the information and will notice inaccuracy • Your teacher may check your sources • It’s an important part of your grade on all research projects

  4. Plagiarism • Plagiarism is also forgetting to cite your source- even if it’s an accident! • At CCHS, plagiarism will result in a failing grade.

  5. What information do you need to include? • The title of the book, magazine, newspaper, website, video, etc. • The author • The publisher • The date of publication • The place where it was published • The web address

  6. Citing a Web Site • Go to the site http://www.mythweb.com/gods/Zeus.html • Title of the article: Zeus • Title of site: MythWeb • Last revised: July 30, 2010. • Author: Joel Skidmore

  7. Plugging it in • Website format: • Author last name, author first name. “Title of article.” Name of site. Date published. Web. Date accessed. <url>. • Our example: • Skidmore, Joel. "Zeus." Greek Mythology. 30 July 2010. Web. 16 Sept. 2010. <http://www.mythweb.com/gods/Zeus.html>.

  8. Multiple Sources? Make a list. • Title your list: Bibliography. • Put sources in alphabetical order. • Use “hanging indents.” The indent should go on the second line.
