  2. A Bibliography is a list of sources you used for information

  3. Step 1 If you find a book with useful information,

  4. Go to the title page of the book

  5. Then record the necessary information from the book onto the sheet provided by the USM library

  7. If you find a web site with useful information,

  8. Find the necessary information on the web page and web site. Not all web sites will have authors or dates, but you need to try to find them. • Every web page and web site has a title, an organization, and a URL.

  9. Then record the necessary information from the web site onto the sheet provided by the USM library.

  11. Step 2 • Open the Son of Citation Machine website: • http://citationmachine.net/

  12. Step 3 • Type information from the library sheet onto the Son of Citation Machine web site. Us the MLA format on the web site: • http://citationmachine.net/

  13. Step 4 • After the citation is formed, cut the top form (in the grey/tan box) and paste it onto a word document. The Son of Citation web page will not save the bibliographic entry – you must. • Save the word document as Diary Bibliography

  14. Step 5 • Repeat this process for each book

  15. And repeat this process for each web site

  16. Step 6 • Once all your bibliographic material for all the sources is recorded on the bibliographic web site,

  17. Step 7 • Then cut and paste the items on your word document, arranging them • Alphabetically

  18. Alphabetize your bibliography by using the first letter of the very first word in the bibliographic entry

  19. Step 8 • Save your alphabetized bibliography

  20. Last, but Vital, Step • Print a paper copy of your bibliography to hand in • Staple your bibliography to your Diary
