  5. March 2018 Logistics (2) From 802.15 Operations Manual Task Group Chair • The TG Chair shall be appointed by the WG Chair and confirmed by a TG majority approval. The TG Chair is required to confirm that the function of secretary is performed for each TG meeting. Task Group Vice-Chair • TG Vice-Chair (an optional position) is appointed by the TG Chair and confirmed by a TG majority. Task Group Secretary • The TG Secretary shall be appointed by the TG Chair, who may also act as Secretary. TG meetings are not allowed to function without a secretary. The minutes of meetings taken by the TG Secretary (or designee) are to be provided to the TG Chair in time to be available to the WG Chair for publication, i.e. within 30 days after the close of the session. March 2018 Joint workshop of TG13 with ITU-T Joint meeting on February 7, 2018 in Geneva Objectives: • both groups prepare similar technologies having similar timelines • IEEE 802.15.13 has more Li-Fi experts but no ecosystem yet • ITU-T Q18/SG15 has few chipset vendors and own ecosystem in place • IEEE 802.15.13 includes HB-PHY according to G.hn recommendation • Letter of assurance will be requested • Integration with 802.15 MAC needs technical support from ITU-T Questions to ITU-T • What PHYs are being used? • How to resolve coexistence issues between different PHYs? • Under what conditions G.hn PHY can be integrated into 15.13 MAC? March 2018 Joint workshop of TG13 with ITU-T Nikola and Volker attended the joint meeting • Volker presented status and timeline of TG13 • If G.hn PHY is used, just use references • IPR issues solved with SDO that owns the original text • Exchange of drafts between both groups is desirable • ITU-T G.vlc members should get access to IEEE draft • TG13 members should get access to ITU-T G.vlc draft • Interaction through comments and resolution in each group • Discussion on way forward Volker Jungnickel (Fraunhofer HHI)

March 2018 TG13 Call for Proposals on OFDM-based PHYs TG13 requests revised proposals for OFDM-based PHYs, in the agreed-upon writing style • PPDU format, Preamble (Synchronization sequence, Channel estimation sequences), Header content, Header check sequence, Channel coding for the header, Channel coding for data with variable code rate, Scrambler, Interleaver Proposals shall be submitted until April 20 and will be discussed at the next interim meeting in Warsaw.
