  3. Disadvantages • the wind is not constant all of the time • noisy • disfigure the land they are being built on • not pleasing to look at • can interfere with TV signals

  4. When wind blows onto the blades, they spin in circles creating energy to power homes and other sources.

  5. Wind turbines are placed in open lands, ideally by water where more wind is generated.

  6. Only 3 percent of all energy created in the United States is wind energy. As more research is being found, the percentage of wind energy in the United States is going up. The United States is already first worldwide in wind energy consumption, which shows that most countries aren’t utilizing wind energy as a resource.

  7. This graph shows the percentage of energy created worldwide. The United States leads in wind production, consuming 31% of all wind energy. China is second in wind consumption with 23% of all wind energy. The rest of the world has not yet developed the technology for wind, which shows a lower percentage for wind creation in the graph.   8. This graph shows the usage of wind energy in the United States. Most of this energy is going towards transportation and the least is going towards commercial use. Even though wind energy is being used much more effectively than in the past, only about 75% of wind energy is being used while more than a quarter of this energy is still being wasted.

  10. How Wind is used in the United States • Wind is used to turn wind turbines which generates electricity. • The electricity created by the wind turbines is used to power homes and businesses. • Wind is 3.3% of all generated electrical energy.
