  2. What is Cubing? • Cubing is an instructional strategy that asks students to consider a concept from a variety of different perspectives. • The cubes are six sided figures that have a different activity on each side of the cube. • A students rolls the cube and does the activity which comes up.

  3. When would you use cubing? • Originally, cubing was created to have students use a variety of thinking skills to consider a single concept. • When used this way, each side of the cubs has a different prompt: describe it, compare it, associate it, analyze it, apply it, evaluate it. • Cubing would give the students who like to use their hands and move around a chance to fell like they are “playing” while learning.

  4. When would you use cubing? • Cubing gives students a chance to look at a concept from a series of perceptions. • Cubing allows students to work through multiple levels of intelligence.

  5. How is cubing used? • Teachers could print out a blank cube template with some instructions listed on how to construct the cube. • Then, teachers think of many different commands which might go on the faces of a cube. (describe, diagram, apply, analyze, connect, argue, evaluate, and create) • The students could be the ones to construct the cube with the commands previously provided.

  6. How is cubing used? • The students will roll the cube and whatever side the cube lands on, the student completes that task. • Another alternative for cubing is for the students to create the commands on the cubes.
