Yahoo!! Go Illini! Wisconsin is going down!
Hey Whit! You’re just in time! Ok, it’s 10:30! The game starts in a half hour. Lets clean up and start heading over to Memorial Stadium!
Yeah I know. I’m so glad we have the awning because it is so hot! Look at all of the orange clothing in the bleachers! I’ll just ask my dad what’s happening while we watch it today. Man, this is going to be a long game. I never know what is going on and don’t really like football… Hey look! The game is starting! These seats are great!
Why did the ref throw the yellow flag? The referees throw yellow flags on the field right after a penalty has been committed.
Why do teams punt the football? Why would Illini not kick the ball after they just scored a touchdown? Instead of scoring an additional 1-point for kicking an extra point, the Illini could run or pass the ball for 2 points after a touchdown. A punt is for field position purposes.
What is so special about tackling Wisconsin on fourth down? It is important to do it before the orange markers because that means we get the ball instead of them.
Memorial Stadium Time: 0:00 Quarter 4 Visitor Illinois 31 26
Wow, now that I know how football is played, I understand why people love it so much! I shouldn’t have been so prejudice towards it just because I didn’t know the rules. I was able to yell and boo and cheer at the right times along with the other Illinois fans, that was great! I don’t think any of us stopped smiling the entire game! That was a lot of fun Court. I’m glad you learned more about football today! I can’t wait for the football game on Dad’s Weekend next year!
The End (Go Illini!)
