KVPY stands for Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana and was started in 1999 by the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India. The responsibility for holding the KVPY program is entitled to the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. Eligibility: Eligibility: Like any other competitive exam, KVPY also has an eligibility criteria that we have shared here:- Stream SA Stream SA- - Students who passed class Xth with 80% (70% for SC/ST/PWD) aggregate in Mathematics and Science, currently pursuing class XIth can sit for this exam. Stream SX Stream SX- - Students presently in class XIIth, who passed class Xth with 80% (70% for SC/ST/PWD) aggregate in Mathematics and Science (Physics/ Chemistry/ Biology) and a minimum of 60% in class XIIth, aspiring to go for undergraduate programs in Basic Sciences (Physics/ Chemistry/ Biology) like B.S./ B.Sc./B.Math./B.Stat./Int. M.Sc./M.S. can appear for KVPY. Stream SB Stream SB- - Students enrolled in the 1st year of undergraduate programs in Basic Sciences (Physics/ Chemistry/Mathematics/ Biology) leading to B.S./ B.Sc./B.Math./B.Stat./Int. M.Sc./M.S., while securing a minimum of 60% (50% for SC/ST/PWD) in class XIIth in science subjects (Physics/ Chemistry/ Mathematics/ Biology). Or students presently in the 1st year of B.S./ B.Sc./B.Math./B.Stat./Int. M.Sc./M.S. are required to secure 60% (50% for SC/ST/PWD) marks before availing the scholarship, if awarded. Subjects Tested Subjects Tested The KVPY exam evaluates your intelligence in the science field.
