Drivers for the project: • To deliver better services to our customers • To enable a better work-life balance for staff • To reduce our accommodation costs • To support sustainability and our Green Travel Plan
Workstyles – Vision To create a flexible working environment with modern working practices which supports staff in the delivery of improved services for the community of North Somerset
Workstyles and Workplace project aims to: Workplace • accommodate 1,200 staff from 2012 in 2 buildings in Central Weston (TH + Dolphin Square) • improve central Weston accommodation for face-to-face customers • achieve reduction in annual cost of accommodation by achieving savings as leases run out and • put in place ratio of 7:10 = workstation : people for 2012 • have staff working in the setting most suitable to the activity • co-locate directorate staff and teams together , including cross-directorate teams as appropriate • utilise new Dolphin Square redevelopment and Town Hall improvements to ensure flexible working and best use of space to put in place flexible modern working solutions to achieve efficiency savings

Current activity/next steps • Consult on workstyles vision • Update PID – completion and sign-off scheduled for end September 2008 • Engage staff and managers • Policies in preparation include HR policies • Initiate workstreams around accommodation and workstyles (process) • Pioneer workstyle projects running in: - Community Meals Service (ASSH) - Training and Development Service (ASSH)
