CHE push strategies through two organizations Thailand’s higher education under the Commission on Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Thailand has to carry out missions under an e-Education strategy in the second phase of the Information Technology Policy of Thailand or IT 2010 (B.E. 2544-2553) and the National Education Plan (B.E. 2545-2559). Commission on Higher Education History • Initiate, promote and support online distance education in higher education- Create local and international universities network on e-learning, R&D, Learning resources sharing • IT Infrastructure- Administrate and support the system that inter-connect public universities
Office ofthe Higher Education Commission’s Policy According to the 15-Year Long term Plan on Higher Education, OHEC has formulated strategies on developing education by focusing on using Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to: • Reduce the gap between basic education, vocational educationand higher. • Develop educational infrastructure to prepare for lifelong learning society.
