APhA-ASP Policy Process Next Step: Your MRM! Step 3:Chapters Attend the MRM Policy Proposal Forum Idea is proposed and floor is opened for debate Step 4:Chapter Delegates Convene at the MRM Closing Business Session One delegate from each chapter votes in favor of or in opposition to the resolution
APhA-ASP Policy Process From MRM to Annual Meeting… Step 5:APhA-ASP Resolutions Committee Discuss Resolutions Passed at MRM Regional Delegates meet in January to compile all of the ideas passed in each region Step 6:Proposed Resolutions Sent to All APhA-ASP Chapters Each chapter is sent the resolutions that will be proposed by the Resolutions Committee at the Annual Meeting
APhA-ASP Policy Process At the APhA Annual Meeting… Step 7:APhA-ASP Chapters Attend the Open Hearing on Proposed Resolutions Chapters voice their opinions on the proposed resolutions Step 8:APhA-ASP Reference Committee Meets Closed session where all the proposed changes are discussed
APhA-ASP Policy Process At the APhA Annual Meeting… Step 9:Reference Committee makes Recommendations to the APhA-ASP HOD • Adopt as written • Reject resolution • Adopt as amended • Refer to committee Step 10:APhA-ASP House of Delegates Convenes Chapter Delegates vote on recommendations from Reference Committee
APhA-ASP Policy Process After the APhA Annual Meeting… Step 11:APhA-ASP Policy Standing Committee Takes Action Solicits comments and recommendations for action and reconvene to determine the implementation of each resolution Step 12:Approval by the APhA Board of Trustees The APhA Board of Trustees reviews the reports of both the APhA-ASP House of Delegates and the APhA-ASP Policy Standing Committee
