Executive BiosJames F. Magee, Jr., General Manager andPresident Jim Magee's involvement in the electronics industry began in 1978 with Avnet Inc., where he served as an Area Sales Manager. In 1988, he was promoted to General Manager and transferred to guide the company's Tampa operation. Building his management experience, Magee accepted the position of Regional Sales Manager (Florida and Puerto Rico) for Philips Semiconductor in 1991. Two years later, he was recruited by Wyle Electronics to open the company's Tampa branch, where he built a team that generated $16 million in sales during its first year. In 1995, America II recruited Magee to run the company's now 350,000-square foot warehouse and sales floor. Since then, Magee has brought America II to new levels in quality and service by spearheading the movement toward ISO 9002 and ANSI/ESD S20.20 certification.
Executive BiosChuck Magee, Executive Vice President Chuck Magee joined Hamilton Avnet in 1973, then the largest name in franchised distribution. Familiarizing himself with the industry, he held a number of positions in customer service, inside and field sales, and product management. In 1981, he moved into management for the company, tackling roles from Regional Inside Sales and Service Center Manager to Corporate Product Line Director for Intel and National Director of Telesales. Magee was recruited to America II in 1995 to establish a new direction for the company's sales and marketing team. Through his hands-on brand of leadership, America II's dedication to quality and customer service trickles down to all personnel.
Executive BiosRon Myers, Vice President, Strategic Business Development One year after his plunge into the electronics industry, with Avnet Inc. in 1977, Ron Myers was recruited as General Manager for Semiconductor Specialists, Inc.'s operations in the midwest. Qualified by this experience in distribution management, he served as Area Distribution Manager for Fujitsu between 1981 and 1984 where he reached year-over-year sales growth exceeding 100%. By 1984, Myers had assumed the role of Vice President of Sales for Classic Component Supply in Chicago, Illinois. In 1987, he was recruited by Unitrode Corporation to coordinate the company's North American Distributor Sales and Marketing Program. In 1994, Temic Semiconductor recruited Myers as North and South American Distribution Director and Worldwide Distribution Strategy Advisor to the company's chairman. Under Myers' leadership, Temic's distribution program grew to nearly $100 million in sales. In 1998, following the sale of Temic by Daimler-Benz, America II recruited Myers. In January 1999, he was promoted to the position of Vice President of Strategic Business Development.
Executive BiosPat O’Brien, Vice President, Global Supply Chain Solutions In 2001, Pat O'Brien brought over 18 years of sales and strategic experience within the electronics industry to the newly created position of Global Director of Supply Chain Solutions for America II. After just one year of working with customers on a global basis to innovate ROI-focused excess inventory management solutions and leverage the sell-side of America II's business, O'Brien was promoted to Vice President of Global Supply Chain Solutions. He currently oversees the company's excess inventory management services, strategic sales, and contract manufacturing partnerships. Prior to joining America II, O'Brien multiplied sales revenues six times in five years while growing personnel, penetrating large accounts, and establishing operations in the Carolinas, Atlanta, and Huntsville as the Southeast Regional Vice President for Future/FAI Electronics. Prior to joining Future, O'Brien doubled sales in four years as a Field Sales Manager based out of Hallmark's Philadelphia office, then the distributor with the largest market share in the region. In sales for this branch, O'Brien consistently ranked at the top of his group. O'Brien attended Pennsylvania's Villanova University on a football scholarship where he made his mark as a communication major and four-year starting quarterback for the school's Division 1 team.
Executive BiosJim Malinowski, Global Director, Mature Product Marketing™ Jim Malinowski's tenure in the electronics industry began in 1970 with Cramer Electronics, a top-ranked distributor purchased by Arrow Electronics in 1978. Here, Malinowski covered upstate New York in inside and field sales as well as sales management. Eight- and-a-half years later, Malinowski moved to Fairchild Semiconductor where he served as Regional Distribution Manager over upstate New York and grew distributor sales 200% in three years. Malinowski logged his next three years with Metrosonics, a manufacturer of sound monitoring equipment within the instrumentation industry. As Metrosonics' International Sales and Marketing Manager, Malinowski introduced the manufacturer to the European marketplace, established an international sales team, and innovated marketing programs that resulted in sales growth from zero dollars to over $65 million. In 1984, Malinowski joined Hamilton Avnet as a Corporate Product Line Director and helped define the position of Supplier Business Manager, now a 35-person team focused on developing business plans between Avnet and its partner companies. Malinowski also served as General Manager for the upstate New York market, where he increased sales from $47 million to over $80 million in three years while driving his team to the number one position in sales and market share within the top five semiconductor suppliers from 1995-1997. Drawing on these experiences, Malinowski stepped into the position of Director of Mature Product Marketing™ for America II, where he works to introduce and implement mature product marketing programs among semiconductor suppliers.
Executive BiosDan Havican, Director of Strategic Sales Commissioned to service and develop strategic accounts, Dan Havican was named America II's Director of Strategic Sales, reporting to Vice President of Global Supply Chain Solutions Pat O'Brien. Preparing him for the position, Havican most recently logged five-and-a-half years with a major franchised distributor as General Manager over south Florida and Puerto Rico. Prior to this experience, Havican served as a Field Sales Manager for Anthem Electronics in south Florida. Havican holds a degree in economics from Florida State University.
Executive BiosSteve Martin, Director of Strategic Sales Since taking on the position of Director of Strategic Sales over the western U.S. in September 2002, Steve Martin has been servicing strategic accounts and working toward building a team to expand his efforts. Preparing for the position, Martin logged 12 years in the electronics industry, starting in inside sales with a passives manufacturer. This position led to a five- year tenure with TTI where, as a Strategic Account Manager, Martin grew the Sanmina account from $500,000 to $16 million in just two years. From TTI, Martin was recruited to conduct global negotiations with franchised and independent suppliers as Solectron’s Lead Manager for Worldwide Distribution, where he served two years before joining America II. Martin holds a B.S. from Colorado State University.
