The Wonders Of My Tribe By: Ilayai Monroe Inola
My Tribe And Region My name is Inola. It means black fox. I am part of the Creek tribe. My family and I live in the southeast region of North America. It is year 1451. This is my story……
Journal Entry 1April 24, 1451 There is a lot to do this morning. My mom is teaching me how to farm, weave, and take care of the younger children. Today is my birthday April 24 the day I become a woman. The age we become adults is the age 18. Since the men are out hunting I can surprise my dad Yansa which means buffalo. Tomorrow is my wedding day. I am getting married to Aranck. I shall wear my prettiest moccasins and cloak, ( not what I’m used to. I usually wear wrap around skirts and mantles). We will have corn, beans, and squash.
Journal Entry 2April 24 1451 Since we live in Georgia it’s geography is moist woodland, tough prairie, and rural area. It’s quite striking here in my outlook. See for yourself:
April 24 1451 A few animals in my region are the Canis Lantrans which is a coyote, the Castor Canadensis which is a beaver, and the Lynx Rufus which is a bobcat.
Journal Entry 3 We have warm summers and short winters. Our Autumns are brisk which mean cool, but comfortable. In the summer we have open airy houses and in the winter closed warm houses. Doing the winter and summer houses we tricked other tribes the we had more villagers then we really had.
Reflection 1 Me and Anranck live in a summer house right now. Our baby boy Edhas and his twin sister Eila look just adorable. They are a handful though. Edhas first word was hunt and Anranck was proud. Eila said wise and loves to read and is always curious. People say Eila is her mother’s girl and Edhas is mine too. I say they look like both me and Anranck. “Ducy. Ducy.” Well I better go Eila wants her juice.
Reflection 2 • I think that I did awesome on my project. I think I deserve an A. It would have been easier if the research wasn’t hard. Those are my reasons to get an A I don’t have much to say.
