It was not obvious to me that it was a high school; only the sign, which declared it to be Forks High School, made me stop” (Meyer 12).
Movement • “The nicest car here was a shiny Volvo, and it stood out” (Meyer 14). • “There, behind my truck was a monstrous Jeep. It’s tires were higher than my waist. There were metal guards over the headlights and taillights, and four large spotlights attached to the crash bar” (Meyer 359).
Human-Environment Interaction • “Something silver caught my eye, and I walked to the back of the truck – carefully holding the side for the support – to examine my tires. There were thins chains crisscrossed in diamond shapes around them” (Meyer 55). • “’I brought the jacket for you. I didn’t want you to get sick or something’” (Meyer 197).
Region Formal Region • “My excitement increased exponentially as we actually drove out of city limits. Jess drove faster than the chief, so we made it to Port Angeles by four” (Meyer 151-152).
