Adversity N. difficulty; hardship; misfortune Even though Winston faced much adversity, he was determined to have a prosperous life; he never slacked off studying.
Deleterious Adj. Causing harm or damage The deleterious effects of sunbathing are well documented, but I still lay out at the beach.
