  4. Required Components (Mentor) • Commit to the mission, vision, and goals of the induction program. • Provide professional, individual support to the principal through collaboration and effective communication. • Coordinate/facilitate interventions and professional learning experiences to guide growth and development of the induction phase principal. • Serve on the Principal Induction Support Team. • Successfully complete the initial and ongoing mentor training programs.

  5. Required Components (Induction Phase Principal) • Understands an effective induction program relies on the willingness of the induction phase principal to be open and candid concerning his/her needs for positive coaching, growth and development. • Participates in all facets of the induction program to ensure principal effectiveness that will have a positive impact on student achievement. • Serves on the Principal Induction Support Team.

  6. Mentor Actions

  7. Include the Code of Ethics training for new administrators during Leader Orientation Code of Ethics training for administrators will include deeper information, including investigations, special needs students, testing, etc.

  8. Include and continue with the following meeting schedules – district level administrative meetings and develop a regular meeting (at least once quarterly) that includes all mentors and beginning administrators in a specific zone

  9. -Include LKES training for beginning Administrators -Include TKES training for beginning Administrators -Include the topic of school improvement, implementation, and accountability in the Leadership Action Plan with time for processing with the administrator's mentor

  10. Time for collaboration and specific topics for professional learning will be included in the Leadership Action Plan

  11. Dates and topics for collaboration between beginning principal and mentor will be identified on the Induction Action Plan.

  12. Information about GA Code of Ethics will be included in a session presented at the Orientation. Include information about the documentation of code violations, legal implications, and other code issues more specific to leadership.

  13. Training for beginning principals in budgets, scheduling, facility use, staffing, etc. will be included in the Leader Induction Plan.

  14. Training for beginning principals in federal programs will be included in the Leader Induction Plan.

  15. Information about organizational charts will be included in keynote address.

  16. Information about staffing policies and procedures will be included in the Leader Action Plan.
