Utah MESA Current StatusGranite will continue to fund MESA HB2 Dissolves MESA program along with 5 other programs • At Risk Programs: MESA (Board Rule R277717) • Highly Impacted Schools (Board Rule R277-464) • At-Risk Programs: Homeless/disadvantaged (Board Rule R277-616-5) • At-Risk Programs: Gang Prevention (Board Rule R277-436) • At-Risk Programs: At-Risk Flow through (Board rule R277-760) • Interventions for Student Success Block grant (Board Rule R277-478-4) • ELL Family Literacy Centers (Board Rule R277-715)

FINANCES 2011-2012 Advisor               $800.00     Paid December and May ALL reports must be turned before June payment Counselor$50.00 a meeting (Two meetings)                     MESA CLUB BUDGET You must keep track of your budget • Field Trips         $200 • Supplies             $100 • Incentives        TBD from your November 2011 membership              • **ALL MESA CLUB ACCOUNTS MUST BE CLOSED OUT BY FRIDAY, MAY 18, 2012. Late pay vouchers/reimbursements will not be accepted!

MESA/STEP GOALS MESA/STEP • Provide training programs and activities in related technical fields. • Increase college enrollment of students in mathematics and sciences • Develop and maintain a “pipeline” of students in the program, from registration through college • Supplement math, science, and related curricula with enrichment activities and programs • Engage in collaborative activities with business/industry, higher education institutions, school systems, government agencies, professional and community organizations, and parents to achieve the Utah MESA mission • Increase the 2 and 4 year college-bound rate for traditionally underrepresented students
