Annual Leave • Accrue 9.38 hours per month up to 15 days or more per year • Increases after 10th year by 1 ¼ days a year up to a total of 30 days per year • Max out at 22 years and over • May transfer to other state employment with no break in service exceeding 15 days
Annual Leave Approval and Balance • Requests are based on departmental approval • Maximum usage per calendar year is 225 hours or 30 days • Employees leaving service are paid for up to 337.5 hours of unused leave • Maximum Accumulation is 337.5
Holiday Leave • State holidays are observed with pay • Certain holidays (such as Labor Day) are not observed on their actual date but added to the winter holiday break
Sick Leave • Used for illness or medical appointments • Earned by permanent full-time employees • Earn 9.38 hours per month (no increase)
Sick Leave Policy • Documentation/Medical Certification may be required • May transfer to other state employment with no break in service • Maximum Accumulation is 1,350 hours
Sick Family Leave • Used for sick family member • Family members include spouse, children, parent, brother, sister, grandparent, legal guardian, foster children, and eligible grandchildren of employee or employee’s spouse.
Sick Family Leave Policy • 75 hours per year (deducted from regular sick leave but coded differently) • Leave over 75 hours is charged to annual leave • Documentation may be required
Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993 • Covered employers provide 12 or 26 weeks of protected leave • Medical Certification is required • Leave with or without pay
Blood Drive/Donation • College arranges • Employees participate during work hours • Do not use annual or sick leave • Notify department in advance • Departmental approval required • Documentation may be required
Blood Marrow Donor Leave • Total amount may not exceed 37.5 hours without College approval • Requires verification from a healthcare practitioner • Leave already used is not forfeited if employee does not qualify as a donor
Bereavement Leave • Up to 3 consecutive workdays with pay • Immediate family includes, spouse, parents, grand and great grandparents, brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren of either employee or spouse. Also included are the spouse of brothers, sisters and children. • A statement of relationship may be required
Court Leave/Jury Duty • Employees who are summoned for jury duty or subpoenaed as a witness are granted leave with pay • Documentation is required
Military Leave • Enlisted or commissioned members are entitled to leave of absence with pay for a maximum of 15 days per year • Documentation is required
Leave Without Pay • Short tem military leave longer than 15 workdays • Hazardous weather and Emergency leave • Implemented once Sick and Annual leave are exhausted
Leave Transfer Pool A pool of leave hours donated by employees Leave hours from which eligible employees who have been approved under personal emergency circumstances may draw Documentation is required and approval is not guaranteed Employee’s department must provide funding
Advanced Sick Leave • Additional sick leave is needed • May receive up to 37.5 hours • Medical documentation required • Is paid back upon returning to work from accrued sick leave
Time and Leave Reports • Non-exempt from overtime employees record all time and leave on individual time reports • Exempt, salaried employees record all leave on leave reports
