  3. Direct Object Pronouns Instead of saying, “I want that skirt,” you can say, “I want it.” The word “it” takes the place of the word “skirt.”

  4. Direct Object Pronouns Direct object pronounstake the place of the direct object noun in a sentence. To find the D.O.go to the verb and ask What?(or who?)

  8. Placement of Direct Object Pronouns Direct Object Pronouns, me, te, lo, la, os, nos, los and las are placed either : before a conjugated verb orattached to the end of an infinitive.

  9. Before the Conjugated Verb: ¿Cuándocomprasla camisanueva? Lacomprocuandotengodinero.

  10. Before the Conjugated Verb Isabel, ¿tienesmi suéter? Do you have my sweater? No, no lotengo. No I don’t have it. • ¿Comprasesospantalones? • Are you buying those pants? • No, no loscompro. • No, I’m not buying them.

  11. Before the conjugated verb or after the infinitive: Q: ¿Quierescompraresacamiseta? Do you want to buy that t-shirt? A: Before the verb: Sí, laquierocomprar. (Yes, I want to buy it) A: After the infinitive: Sí, quierocomprarla. (Yes, I want to buy it)

  12. Direct Object Pronouns When the pronoun replaces both a masculine and a feminine direct object noun, we use los. • ¿Cuándocomprasla falday el vestido? • Loscompro el sábado.
