  1. How to Study for a Math Quiz A 45-minute plan by Mr. Gopp

  2. Do this: • Make a “packet” of notes, handouts, homework and problem solving from the sections for which you will be quizzed. • Review the packet for 10 minutes to get “reacquainted” with the material. • Write down the TROUBLE AREAS for the material. • Get a good night’s sleep and eat pizza.

  3. Do this: • If a REVIEW SHEET is assigned, tackle those problems first. • Make yourself a PRACTICE TEST. This could be made-up of problems assigned as homework that you may have struggled with… • Grade your practice test and retry any missed problems. • Re-discover your “study packet” for another 10 minutes.

  4. NOT THIS… • Decide, “I don’t have to study, I ACE all of my math quizzes!” • Forget to take your binder home. • Skip breakfast after playing video games until midnight. • Come without a calculator and a pencil. • Pretend “you CAN’T study for a math quiz.”
